7 dead in China mine accident

All seven miners involved in a coal mine accident in northwest China's Shaanxi Province were found dead, and rescuers retrieved their bodies on Monday noon, local authorities said.

The coal mine located in Longmen Township, in the city of Hancheng, was rocked by a coal and gas outburst on June 10, according to the publicity department of the city.

The mine is owned by Shaanxi Liaoyuan Coal Industry LLC, a private enterprise, and it has an annual production capacity of 600,000 tonnes.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.
