The Rwandan President Paul Kagame on Saturday held phone conversation with his American counterpart Donald Trump on how to tackle the coronavirus pandemic. On his twitter handle the head of state for the African nation said, "We discussed our good relationship, and the support he personally, and his administration are extending to Rwanda to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, adding that this was much appreciated."

On Friday Kagame said victory over the COVID-19 pandemic and restoration of normalcy will among other things require international solidarity and collaboration to ensure that all regions across the world are safe.

He made the remarks during the virtual launch of a global collaboration to accelerate the development, production and equitable access to new COVID-19 diagnostics, therapeutics, and vaccines
