The impact of international students on the U.S. economy

Universities in the U.S. have a long tradition of welcominginternationalstudents. But this year will be different because of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to a report by the Institute ofInternationalEducation, theenrollmentof foreign students at U.S. higher education institutions was down by almost half this fall.

Some 90 percent of campuses reported that foreign students deferred attendance.
