British Prime Minister Theresa May's Conservative Party has maintained its lead in opinion polls three weeks ahead of the country's general election on June 8.

A poll by Kantar Public showed that support for the country’s ruling Conservatives had risen to 47 percent, up three percentage points from a similar poll in early May. According to Reuters, the party has slightly extended its large lead over the Labour Party as the state-run health service takes over from Brexit as the nation's top concern.

Support for Labour also increased to 29 percent, as the numbers for smaller parties such as the Liberal Democrats and UKIP waned.

Another poll by Panelbase showed that the Conservatives' lead over Labour had narrowed slightly to 14 points after details of Labour's policy program were published in early May.
