India test-fired its nuclear-capable Agni-V intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) from Abdul Kalam Island off the Odisha coast on Thursday morning, local media ANI reported citing Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

It is reported that the missile was launched at 9:53 a.m. local time with a range of around 5,500 kilometers, which can even “reach the northern-most parts of China,” local media claimed.

The Agni-V was last tested on December 26, 2016 in India.
