More than 330,000 people have sat this year's social worker qualification test in China, up 10 percent from 2016.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (MOHRSS), China's labour force bureau, said the number was the highest since the test started in 2008, China News Service reported.
A major way to select and authorise professional and specialised social workers, anti-cheating and security issues were highlighted in the examination process this year.
In the past decade, close to 290,000 people have passed the exam and been granted social worker vocational level certificates.
Those who pass the test will work in a wide range of social affairs, including community building, social welfare, social relief and aid, charity, disability rehabilitation as well as drug prohibition and treatment.
