DPRK plane makes forced landing in northeast China city

An Air Koryo passenger plane, the national carrier of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), was forced to land in Taoxian International Airport in Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province on Friday.

The JS151 flight, which was en route from Pyongyang to Beijing, made the landing safely at the airport at 8:50 a.m.. No one on board was injured, according to the airport authority.

Smoke was seen from a compartment when the plane landed. There were 60 passengers and 15 crew on board.

The airport authority immediately despatched a team to help check the plane.

The passengers were transferred to another flight to Beijing. The plane remains at the airport.

No details on the cause of the incident have been released yet.
