Ten killed after fire breaks out in Czechia apartment block

Ten people have died after a fire broke out in an apartment block in the eastern town of Bohumin, Czechia, on Saturday afternoon.

The fire began on the eleventh floor of the building in the town close to the Polish border.

Local media said people jumped out of windows from the 13-storey building as the fire began to spread.

The cause of the fire is unknown but Czechia police said in a tweet "An intensive investigation into the circumstances and causes of this tragic event is under way."
