A 15-strong Saudi team entered Saudi Arabia's consulate in Istanbul on the same day Jamal Khashoggi visited the facility, and surveillance footage shows the dissident journalist never came out, said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Parliament on Tuesday.
Khashoggi is believed to have been killed on October 2 when he visited his country's consulate to collect papers he needed to marry his Turkish fiancée. Riyadh denied at the beginning the critic of the Saudi policy was killed, but recently said he died in a "fist fight" inside the consulate – an account that was questioned, amid widespread reports that Khashoggi's death was premeditated.
"The Saudi consulate cameras were removed," Erdogan added.
