Mexico has begun COVID-19 vaccinations.

Maria Irene Ramirez, a Mexico City nurse, was the first to receive the Pfizer vaccine on Thursday.

A report from a human rights watchdog released in September, found Mexico to have the highest COVID-19 death rate among healthcare workers.
