Iran's Civil Aviation Organization (CAO) dismissed any negative impact of recent U.S. sanctions on the Islamic Republic's airlines, Tehran Times daily reported on Friday.
The U.S. Treasury on Wednesday imposed new sanctions on the Iranian airline of Mahan Air and its shipping industry, accusing it of "transporting lethal aid from Iran to Yemen."
Spokesman for the CAO Reza Jafarzadeh said that "the U.S. sanctions against Iran and its airlines are not something new and every now and then a new embargo is imposed on our country."
"The Americans have already imposed sanctions on various sectors of Iran, including airlines," he said, adding that "given the past experiences of Iran, the aviation industry officials anticipated such sanction and know how to deal with it."
Since December last year, three European countries of Germany, France and Italy have imposed a ban on Mahan Air flights.
