Parties in Indonesia have reacted harshly to disputes that took place in the recent overseas votings for the presidential election, pressing for the re-voting in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong-based Indonesians have demanded a re-voting and a parliamentary hearing be held to address the issue.

The dispute erupted when Indonesian nationals in Hong Kong were rejected to cast ballots after the expiration of polling at 5.00 p. m. local time on Sunday.

Indonesian consulate general office said in an official statement that the Hong Kong authority grants timeline for the Victoria Park voting only by 5.00 p.m.

However, the incident led to allegations on fraud, as some 500 Indonesian nationals later on Sunday reportedly staged a protest at the polling station in Victoria Park.

A senior executive of Indonesia Democratic Party of Struggle ( PDI-P) Eva Kusuma Sundari demanded a re-voting be held in Hong Kong.

"Voters who failed to cast their ballots were not wrong," Eva told local media on Monday.

An official with the voting organizer Wahid Supriyadi said on Monday that voter participation in Hong Kong increased 400 percent compared to that of in the April 9 legislative election.

"We also learned 100 percent voter participation increase in Washington DC, Kuala Lumpur, Sydney and Melbourne," said the official.

The voting organizing body recorded 114,662 voters in China's two special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macao.

Voters who cast their ballots stood at 23,569 and 1,568 respectively in the two regions.

The number of voters using postal service stood at 18,177.

Indonesian Parliament Speaker Marzuki Alie said the General Election Commission (KPU) must take appropriate move to address the situation.

"The KPU should immediately take emergency move by contacting the organizer there and provide funds to extend the election process so as to assure all voters have cast their ballots," Marzuki said on Monday.

Marzuki said similar situation had took place in the April 9 election.

Many voters failed to cast their votes due to limited facilities and period of time.

Marzuki said Commission II in the parliament that oversees elections, bureaucracy and regional autonomy must summon the election organizers, making them take responsibility on such a dispute.
