24th ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet kicks off in Vietnam

The 24th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Armies Rifle Meet (AARM 24) officially kicked off at Mieu Mon National Training Center in Vietnam's capital Hanoi on Wednesday.

The AARM 24 draws the participation of firers from ten members of ASEAN, including Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

Participants will compete in five contents of rifle, carbine, machine gun, pistol men and pistol women, according to the official website of AARM 24.

The AARM was held for the first time in 1991 in Malaysia, aiming to strengthen solidarity, mutual understanding and friendship between ASEAN militaries. The event is held annually on a rotational basis.

The AARM 24 is scheduled to last till Nov. 28. Enditem
