The visiting team of the Indian National Investigation Agency met with Bangladesh's Home Ministry officials in capital Dhaka on Monday afternoon.
The four-member team, led by NIA Director General Sharad Kumar, arrived on Monday afternoon for a two-day visit to brief the authorities in Dhaka on its findings on Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) terror outfit, which reportedly planned to assassinate Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and ex-Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.
The alleged assassination conspiracy was discovered after two members of the outlawed group were killed in an explosion while building homemade bombs at a Burdwan house in West Bengal in eastern India last month.
The visit comes after alleged JMB Burdwan module chief Sajid Rahmatullah, said to be a Bangladeshi national, was arrested.
The NIA team will hold meetings with relevant authorities of Bangladesh as part of ongoing bilateral security cooperation between India and Bangladesh, said a statement of the Indian High Commission in Dhaka.
