Diplomats from Japan and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) are exploring the possibility of secret meeting in near future after resuming governmental talks last weekend, local media reported late Saturday.

The secret meeting could be held within the next couple of days in China or some other place, Japan's Kyodo News quoted an unnamed source as saying, adding an official involved in bilateral relations did not rule out the possibility of the diplomats having face-to-face contact in a few days.

"There is a secret part in negotiations," Kyodo quoted the official as reporting.

Japan and DPRK held a two-day meeting from March 30 in Beijing and agreed the two countries will carry on with governmental talks, without setting a definite time frame.
