New organ distribution rule

Donor organs are to be distributed through a nation-wide system after a new ruling by the government.

The regulation on the Procurement and Distribution of Donated Human Organs was revealed by the National Health and Family Planning Commission on Wednesday, and is set to take effect on Sept. 1.

The rule requires that organs be obtained with the authorization of provincial health authorities, and distribution must be through the China Organ Transplant Response System.

The new rule aims to prevent human intervention and ensure fairness and transparency in organ distribution in China.

According to the National Health and Family Planning Commission, since Aug. 9, three thousand organs had been donated via the system.
