Art events of the week: Feb. 01-07

1.Swan Lake - Ballet

Venue : The National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), Beijing

Swan Lake, composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in 1875-76, is a jewel in the crown of ballet art and is considered one of the greatest ballet masterpieces of all time. Swan Lake is also of extraordinary significance in the nearly sixty-year history of the National Ballet of China (NBC).

2.Der Elefantenpups - Concert

Venue : Majestic Theatre, Jing'an District, Shanghai

Der Elefantenpups is a child-friendly audiovisual symphony, blending story and music. The show is based on a German picture book by Heidi Leenen with music by Christian Klaessen. It follows the story of a friendly animal keeper, his elephant and several animals friends. Throughout their journey, children can explore the world of musical instruments and genres, like jazz, blues and more.
