Popular South Korean boy band EXO's concert scheduled for next weekend in Nanjing has been postponed in what could be possible fallout from Seoul's plan to deploy an advanced U.S. missile defense system on its soil, the group's agency said Wednesday.
The band planned to stage the "EXO Planet #3-The EXO'rDIUM" concert at Nanjing's Olympic stadium on Dec. 17, but has recently decided to reschedule it at the request of its Chinese agency, S.M. Entertainment said.

The delay comes amid concerns that China is restricting Korean celebrities from working in China in retaliation for Seoul's decision to deploy the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) on the Korean Peninsula.
Beijing has disallowed Korean stars from performing in the country since October. But last month, the Chinese cultural authority permitted Akdong Musician to hold a showcase in Shanghai on Nov. 22, prompting anticipation that the authority might have recently eased its stance.
"We understand the delay was solely due to the Chinese organizer's request for rescheduling," a S.M. official told Yonhap News Agency by phone. "We will reschedule the event as early as possible after consulting with the organizer."
