President Faure Gnassingbe of Togo and Macky Sall of Senegal will broker the resolution of the crisis in Burkina faso, following the seizure of power by the army after the resignation of Blaise Compaore amidst insurrection.

The two heads of State arrived hours earlier in Ouagadougou for a mission, which sources in Lome, said to be on behalf of ECOWAS with a view to assisting the armed forces that seized power, just after Compaore resigned on October 31, to handover for civilian transition.

Their visit to Burkina Faso comes as political parties and the civil society organizations delivered a draft of charter of the transition to Lt-Col Isaac Zida, who seized power with the support of the armed forces.

All the protagonists involved for civilian transition are at work to consider the proposals of the army so as to sort out a consensual Charter of the transition at the earliest as possible.

Writing and submitting the draft of the Charter is "a major step towards," commented Me Benewende Sankara, president of Sankarist progressive Front (FPS), pointing out the integration and the consideration of other proposals as "significant challenge to overcome".

The draft of the Charter provides for the transition a civilian as president, a 25-member government and 90 deputies for a transitional National Assembly.

Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, president of Muaritania and incombent president of African union, has talks on Monday with all protagonists to help Burkina faso to find by themselves the accurate way out of the crisis through a civilian transition.

According to sources close to the talks, all protagonists are moving forwards positively in the discussion and a background document on key subjects of the transitional period could be expected in days to come. Enditem
