At every Olympics, new elements are introduced to help people keep track with the different competitions and facilitate the work of journalists.

For PyeongChang Games, a system fittingly called "Info" has been designed to cover almost every aspect of the mega-sporting event.

To make it more convenient for journalists and fans to follow the Games, the "Info" homepage shows medal counts, schedules, and of course results.

Upon clicking on the "Schedule and Results" button, viewers can see the times and dates of various sports events. The "NOC Schedule" section contains data on the athletes and teams from each participating nation and region.

The "Info" system has been used in the last several editions of the Olympics, but a number of upgrades were installed ahead of the 2018 Winter Games.

Whether it’s play-by-play details, athletes' biographies, or schedules and scores, Gracenote provides tailored products to many of the world’s biggest sports organizations, clubs, and National Olympic Committees.

"More than just showing how Chinese athletes have been doing in particular sports, 'Info' also compares other countries’ athletes against whom they compete for the medals," said Steve Dettre, event services director at Gracenote.

This function helps people increase their knowledge of who their national team’s biggest rivals are.

The system is also able to key in on specific age groups and follow how they perform, in order to help viewers understand who might be on the cusp of breaking through at future Olympic Games.
