Chinese companies continue to climb Fortune 500

‍The world’s largest Fortune 500 companies for 2017 have been announced by business magazine Fortune.

And China is home to more companies shaping the world this year, totaling 115 with 10 of them making their debut. The number of Chinese companies featured has increased for the 14th consecutive year.

10 new Chinese companies including Jack Ma’s Alibaba

10 Chinese companies have made their debut this year: Anbang Insurance Group, Hengli Group, Yango Financial Holding, Alibaba Group Holding, Country Garden Holdings, Tencent Holdings, Suning Commerce Group, Xiamen C&D, Xiamen ITG Holding Group, and Xinjiang Guanghui Industry Investment.

The 115 Chinese companies on the list cover a wide range of fields including energy, oil refining, mining companies, real estate and construction.

Walmart ranks first for the fourth consecutive year. The world's six biggest Internet companies are split equally between China and the US. The Chinese giants are JD.com Inc, Alibaba Group Holding and Tencent Holdings, while the American companies are Amazon.com, Alphabet and Facebook, which appears on the list for the first time.
