China's Liaoning reports eight new local COVID-19 cases

Northeast China's Liaoning Province reported eight newly confirmed local COVID-19 cases on Sunday, the provincial health commission said on Monday.

All of the new local cases are in the coastal city of Dalian, according to the commission.

The province also reported one new imported case from the United States on Sunday in provincial capital Shenyang.

By the end of Sunday, the province had reported a total of 253 confirmed cases, including 34 imported ones. Two people had died, and 160 had been discharged from hospitals after recovery. There are 30 asymptomatic people still under medical observation.
