The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) confirmed late Sunday that it has received new French satellite photos showing objects possibly related to missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH307 in the southern Indian Ocean.
Andrea Hayward-Maher, media liaison officer of AMSA, said in a telephone interview with Xinhua that AMSA received the French satellite images early Sunday.
"It's been looked at, considered in planning the search area," she said.
She gave no other details of the photos nor how they might affect the search, which covered a total of 59,000 square kilometers over two areas.
American satellite images taken on March 16 showed an object about 24 meters long in the water, while Chinese satellite photos two days later showed an object measuring 22 meters by 13 meters.
The Chinese and U.S. satellite photos were taken of locations about 120 km apart.
