China to focus on promoting private sector as priority: NDRC

China's top economic planner on Monday said that the country will focus on optimizing the operational environment of the private economy and further promote its development.

The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) said this at a symposium where its officials held in-depth exchanges and discussions with private enterprises.

Entrepreneurs discussed topics surrounding the status of production and operations, existing difficulties, as well as their thoughts about the implementation of macro policies.

Zheng Shanjie, head of the NDRC, said that it is necessary to accelerate the building of a modern industrial system with advanced manufacturing as the backbone of the country's economy.

He added that it is important to promote the deep integration of modern service industries with advanced manufacturing.
