A railway connecting Beijing to Berlin is said to be being built according to Chinese netizens.

The train will have four stops: Berlin, Warsaw, Moscow and Beijing.

It will take around 160 hours, and therefore allow passengers to enjoy views across Europe and Asia.

However, whether the train route is simply a rumor or not is still unclear.

"There was an announcement on the official website. Four stops are listed but we can't get fare information or book tickets."

An email sent by German Railways said there is no direct railway between Beijing to German currently. Instead, it said, the only access is the Siberian Railway followed by a transfer to the German Railways system.

"We have no information about this train. We only have trains from Beijing to Moscow. There are two that run every week, on Wednesday and Saturday. The Wednesday train starts at 8:05 a.m. and takes five and a half days. The other starts at 11 p.m. and takes 6 days. If you buy the international train ticket, you need to apply for a visa yourself. We only sell tickets."
