King Abdullah II of Jordan on Thursday said Jordan's war on terrorism will continue, the state-run Petra news agency reported.
King Abdullah made the remarks during a visit to the family of the killed Jordanian pilot in his hometown of Karak.
The king said the pilot died defending Islam as a Muslim, adding that the pilot is a hero.
Also on Thursday, Jordan Air Force warplanes launched air strikes against several targets of the Islamic State (IS) in Syria, the state-run Jordan TV reported.
Earlier this week, the IS displayed the video of burning the captured Jordanian pilot to death.
Following the incident, the king said on Wednesday that Jordan' s response to the killing of the pilot will be harsh. He said Jordan is engaged in this war to protect Islam and its values.
The 26-year-old Jordanian pilot was one of pilots of the U.S. -led anti-terror coalition, which comprises of several Arab forces, including Jordan. Enditem
