APD | Indonesia condemns Israeli attacks over damages in its Palestine hospital

JAKARTA, Oct. 28 (APD) – Indonesia President Joko Widodo condemned on Sunday recent Israeli attacks in Palestine’s Gaza that damaged its hospital in the area.

“That hospital sustained from damages. We strongly condemn the attacks that occurred on Saturday,” the president said in East Java province’s city of Sidoarjo.

He said Indonesia would continue its staunch commitments for the fully independence of Palestine.

The attacks, which Israel claimed of retaliation to rocket attacks of Palestine fighters to Israel territory, have damaged premises of Indonesian hospital in North Gaza zone of Bayt Lahiya.

Impacts of the Israeli rockets exploded around the hospital had damaged ceilings in the wards and medical instruments in the hospital.

Patients were evacuated from the wards to the hallways inside the hospital to assure their safety. No one was reported injured or died in the hospital from the Israeli attacks.

The hospital began its operation in addressing the health of Palestine people since 2015.

Indonesian hospital in Palestine’s Gaza was part of Indonesia’s supports for Palestine, accentuating its other support for Palestine in international diplomacy through peace dialogues.

Indonesia supports the idea of two-state solution, enabling Palestine and Israel people to live side by side harmoniously, respecting to each other.
