Vietnam's Ministry of Transport (MoT) has assigned the Airport Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) to set auction plan for operation right of capital Hanoi's Noi Bai International Airport, local media reported on Tuesday.

The announcement was made by MoT's deputy minister Nguyen Hong Truong in regular press conference of Vietnamese government held here on Monday, reported state-run radio VOV on Tuesday.

According to Truong, after the MoT's idea of socializing investment for aviation infrastructure development, many domestic airlines have proposed to buy operation right of passenger terminal T1 of Noi Bai airport, including state-owned Vietnam Airlines, and private VietJetAir as well as Vietnam-Australia joint venture JetStar Pacific.

Following the auction plan, the carrier which can meet the MoT' s criteria at reasonable purchase price will be given operation right of Noi Bai's T1, said Truong.
