The Chinese ballet fans will enjoy excellent performances this winter with the third China International Ballet Season opening in Beijing on November 10, running until January 14, 2018.
The announcement was made at a press conference in the Chinese capital on Tuesday, where officials of the Liaison Bureau of the Ministry of Culture, heads of the National Ballet of China and the China National Arts Fund were present.
Fourteen dramas and 31 performances reportedly will be staged during the ballet season, which is expected to attract an estimated 60,000 spectators.
Masterpieces of foreign classical ballets such as “The Swan Lake”, “The Giselle” and “The Romeo and Juliet” and modern Chinese ballets, “the Red Detachment of Women”, “the Celebrating the New Year” and “the Yellow River”, will be performed.
The big art feast will also present excellent works with the characteristics of traditional Chinese culture.
In this winter, the Chinese top 10 ballet companies will gather together for the first time, which will jointly present a spectacular performance “Strengthen of China’s Ballet” to the audience. The work is aimed at showing off China’s cultural soft power and expressing strong voice to the world’s ballet circle.
Many low-priced tickets will be available for ballet fans, allowing more people to enjoy the elegant art.
Besides, a variety of activities like public welfare performances, lectures by ballet masters, ballet performer selection and ballet photography competition will be held in the upcoming two months.
So far, a great many top dancers from 57 world-class ballet companies from 27 countries have been invited in the three Ballet seasons.
