Visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Friday that Iran is fully prepared to help rehabilitate Lebanon's power plants to help it produce energy, the National News Agency reported.

"Once again, I want to officially confirm that Iran ... is fully prepared to rehabilitate power plants in Lebanon and build new ones to help the country produce energy according to a consensus reached with the Lebanese government," Amir-Abdollahian said during a press conference with his Lebanese counterpart Abdallah Bou Habib in Beirut.

Iran is also ready to provide Lebanon with fuel for its energy production, the Iranian official added.

"We consider that security and development in brotherly Lebanon is part of the security and development of Iran," he noted, adding Tehran aims to strengthen cooperation with Beirut in all fields.

For his part, Bou Habib expressed Lebanon's keenness to support stability in Iran, saying his country rejects the interference in other countries' affairs.
