Some were given hydroxychloroquine, a drug which was later found to increase the risk of heart attack.

For families seeking financial compensation for the death or injury of a loved one, there is little recourse.

In a declared pandemic, healthcare providers and drug companies are shielded from most lawsuits.

But there is a little-known government program that can provide compensation.
