Heavy rain to sweep China

Heavy rain will hit parts of central, southern and eastern China from Sunday to Tuesday, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said Sunday.

Rainstorms will sweep parts of the provincial areas including Shaanxi, Henan, Chongqing, Sichuan, Hubei, Guizhou, Hunan, Jiangxi, Fujian and Guangdong from Sunday to Monday, according to the NMC.

It also forecast thunderstorms, gusts of wind or hailstones in some of these areas.

The NMC warned of risks of mountain torrents and landslides in the regions.
