Some anti-China politicians in U.S. will pay for their actions: MOFA

China's act of sanctioning 28 people, including former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, is in response to their serious violations of China's sovereignty and demonstrates the Chinese government's determination to safeguard its national interests, Hua Chunying, spokesperson for China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), said on Thursday.

Some anti-China politicians in the U.S. have plotted and carried out a series of actions to undermine China-U.S. relations for their selfish political interests, Hua said, adding they will surely pay the price for these actions.

China calls on the U.S. to show respect, cooperate for win-win results and bring China-U.S. relations back on track, Hua said.
