Some 3,000 camels took a midnight stroll through Tripoli as they were evacuated from a nearby port.

According to Reuters, the owner, a businessman from Zawiya, imported them from Australia.

After the port came under artillery fire, the owner decided to have his camels evacuated.

No trucks were available to transport the camels, so they had to walk about 50 kilometers to Zawiya.

Tripoli has been caught in the crossfire as forces loyal to Khalifa Haftar fight against Libya's internationally recognized government.

The government is based in Tripoli, and Haftar has tried to take control of the city for the past 10 months.
