Six employees of India's largest media conglomerate - The Times group have tested positive for novel coronavirus in Mumbai, media reports said, Monday

Confirming the six cases, The Times group that operates several print and news channels said, "Despite practicing all safety measures and precautions while fulfilling their duties, four of our colleagues at Mirror Now and two support staff members have tested coronavirus positive. Following BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) guidance, they have been shifted to the mandatory quarantine facility at a private hospital in Mumbai and are doing fine."

Operations of the two news channels, Mirror Now and ET Now have been shifted to an alternative facility to ensure non-stop news coverage to its viewers, said a report by Exchange4Media portal.

Last week, one of its print publication Mumbai Mirror reported that three of its journalists had test positive for COVID-19 and 37 other colleagues were put under quarantine.

The city's civic authority -- BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation has conducted anti-virus sanitisation process at the premises of the media houses as per standard procedure.

As per latest official update, India has 8,048 active cases of novel coronavirus of which 1,298 are from Mumbai with 92 deaths reported out 324 deaths in the country so far.
