Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that multilateralism has remained a firm commitment of China, adding that the way to address various challenges is upholding true multilateralism.
He made the remarks during a virtual press conference on Sunday on the sidelines of the fourth session of the 13th National People's Congress in Beijing.
Wang further explained that true multilateralism means observing the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, upholding the UN-centered international system and making international relations more democratic.
"Multilateralism is a banner, not a pretext, a conviction, not a rhetoric," he said.
