Macao's Guo Hong (International) Investment and Development Co. Ltd was officially launched in Cambodia on Monday with an investment plan in developing a large- scale eco-tourism farm in northeastern Cambodia, the company's Managing Director Wu Jinlong said.

"We are going to build a large-scale eco-tourism farm on an area of 50,000 hectares in Mondulkiri province," he said at the company's grand opening ceremony. "With the support from both China and Cambodia, we believe that our project--the eco-farm and eco-tourism--will come to fruition and will definitely contribute to the development of Cambodian economy."

Speaking at the event, Yi Chheng, advisor to the Cambodian Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, said she fully supported the company for its investment in developing ecological agriculture and ecological tourism in Mondolkiri province.

"I hope that the firm will help preserve natural resources, culture, and history and contribute to poverty reduction in Cambodia," she said. "I believe that the company will turn the area into a green zone and animals will have a comfortable habitat with good environment and atmosphere."

She said the company's investment in Cambodia also clearly shows Chinese investors' confidence in Cambodia's political stability and favorable climate for business.
