Chinese mainland reports 85 new confirmed COVID-19 cases

The Chinese mainland recorded 85 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, with 62 being local transmissions and 23 from overseas, the latest data from the National Health Commission showed on Thursday.

In addition, 54 new asymptomatic cases were recorded, while 527 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

This brings the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland to 93,374, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636.

The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 11,996 (11,721 recoveries, 212 deaths)

Macao: 63 (54 recoveries)

Taiwan: 15,742 (12,957 recoveries, 791 deaths)
