China vows to address problems in epidemic prevention, control

China has vowed to strengthen supervision and resolutely investigate and deal with problems in the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV), the top anti-graft body announced Thursday.

Misconduct including dereliction of duty and misappropriation of relief funds and materials will be investigated and handled in accordance with the law and discipline, said a guideline issued by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China and the National Supervisory Commission.

Discipline inspection and supervision organs at all levels should actively perform their duties to promote the implementation of joint prevention and control of the outbreak, the guideline said.

It also called for efforts to supervise and promote health, transportation, market supervision, drug supervision and other functional departments to fulfill their responsibilities of industry supervision, as well as to cooperate with various departments to carry out epidemic prevention and control work.
