Former U.S. President George W. Bush hinted Thursday that his younger brother, Jeb Bush, is willing to run for president but has not fully decided yet.

"I think he (Jeb) wants to be president. I think he'd be a great president," the former president told Fox News Channel's "Fox & Friends" host Brian Kilmeade.

"He understands what it's like to be president, for not only the person running or serving, plus family."

"He's seen his dad. He's seen his brother," said Bush, referring to himself and their father George H. W. Bush, who was president between 1989 and 1993.

George W. Bush, hosting an annual golf event in Texas to honor wounded veterans, said he pushed his younger brother in a conversation Wednesday to run for president in 2016.

"He's a very thoughtful man and he's weighing his options," Bush said, adding that his brother did not like being pushed on this.

Jeb Bush, 61, served as governor of Florida from 1999 to 2007. He is the only Republican who has served two full four-year terms in this position. Though many in the Republican Party have called on him to run for president in 2016, he has not revealed his intentions so far.

Currently, major potential Republican candidates for the 2016 race include New Jersey Governor Chris Christie; Texas Governor Rick Perry, who failed in the Republican primaries in the 2012 elections; Kentucky Senator Rand Paul and Texas Senator Ted Cruz. Enditem
