Authorities in Nepal's western Kaski district said they have started handing over the identified dead bodies of Tara Air crash victims to their families after the postmortem.

Chief District Officer of Kaski Hari Prasad Mainali told Xinhua that the 11 dead bodies of Nepalese nationals have been identified.

All 23 on board including three crew members, two infants and two foreigners from China's Hong Kong and Kuwait were killed in the air crash on Wednesday.

Mainal said the bodies of the foreigners have not been yet identified.

The bodies were airlifted to Pokhara, Nepal's western city, from crash site in Dana of Myagdi district on Thursday afternoon.

The authorities planned to airlift dead bodies on Wednesday from the crash site, but snowfall in the area on Wednesday evening hampered the efforts.
