At least 60 injured in arsenal explosion in Abkhazia

At least 60 people were injured in an explosion at an ammunition depot in Abkhazia on Wedenesday.

The explosion, took place Wednesday afternoon near a resort in the village of Primorsko, local official Anzor Sakaniya said.

The fire was put out and authorities are still investigating the cause of the incident.

The Russian military base in Abkhazia was not affected by the explosion, Russia's RIA news agency reported.

Abkhazia is a worn-torn region south of Russia that has been the subject of tension with neighboring Georgia since 2008.
