Taliban commander killed in eastern Afghanistan

A key Taliban commander, Mullah Bashir, has been killed in a special operation in Wardak province in eastern Afghanistan, the interior ministry said in a statement released on Saturday.

Two other armed Taliban militants were injured during the operation, reportedly carried out by General Command of Police Special Units in Wardak's Nerkh district.
