Suspected DPRK drone found near South Korean border

A suspected drone from the DPRK was found south of the Demilitarized Zone in Gangwon province, the South Korean military reported on Friday.

South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said the drone was found in a mountainous area in Inje County by local residents.

The drone, which is 1.8 meters long and 2.4 meters wide, is equipped with a camera.

It is said to be similar in shape and size to a DPRK drone that crashed in South Korea's Baengnyeong Island west of the Korean Peninsula in March 2014, said the Joint Chiefs of Staff following an on-site investigation.

The drone is currently under analysis and the results are expected to be released in around ten days.
