DemocraticAlliancefortheBettermentandProgressofHongKongchairwomanStarryLeesaidChiefExecutiveLeungChun-yinghasacceptedherresignationfromtheExecutiveCouncil(ExCo).

LeesaidshehadcontemplatedleavefromthehighlevelgovernmentadvisorybodysinceassumingleadershipoftheDABlastyear.

Leedeclinedtoelaboratewhetherherresignationwasapreludetoa2017CEelectionrun.

ChiefExecutiveCYLeunghasappointedanotherDABheavyweight,legislatorIpKwok-him,totheExecutiveCouncilwithimmediateeffect.

Inastatement,hesaidIphasrichexperienceinLegco,publicserviceaswellasindistrictworkandwillprovidewisecounsel.
