2 dead after campus shooting in Texas

Two people were killed and another injured in a shooting Monday at a university campus in northern Texas, the United States.

According to the campus police at Texas AM University-Commerce, about 480 km north of Houston, the shooting happened before noon at a residence hall in the campus.

The precautionary shelter-in-place has already been lifted, according to the police.

The police said officers have been stationed throughout the campus, and the residence hall and its surrounding areas are still blocked off "due to the ongoing investigation."

Texas AM University-Commerce is the third-largest institution in the Texas AM University System, with an enrollment of over 12,000 students.
