Forest fire in Tibet put out

A forest fire raging for four days in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region had been put out as of 5 p.m. Saturday, local authorities said.

More than 2,600 people had been sent to battle the fire, which started at around 3:35 p.m. in Nyexi Village in the city of Nyingchi on April 14 and spread over more than 7 square km.

No casualties and damage to major facilities were reported.
