The three taikonauts of China's Shenzhou-15 crewed mission met with press on Monday, in their first such appearance since returning to Earth in early June.

The trio has completed their quarantine and recuperation stages, and have moved to the observation stage, according to the press conference held at the Taikonaut Center of China in Beijing.

The crew are in good physical and mental condition and will resume regular training after completing health assessments.

Launched on November 29, 2022, the Shenzhou-15 spaceship sent Fei Junlong, Deng Qingming and Zhang Lu to the China Space Station.

The trio has achieved multiple breakthroughs in China's space exploration as it wrapped up the last stage of the space station construction and kicked off the first stage of its application and development.

As the eldest crew on average in Chinese space missions so far, they conducted four extravehicular activities (EVAs), setting a record for Chinese taikonaut crews in spacewalks.

Fei, the mission commander, said that the EVAs they have completed is also a new starting point, and he believes that subsequent crews will create greater records.

When asked about China's manned lunar landing, Fei, who had flown to the space twice, said that he would continue to work hard and he wished the Chinese people to land on the moon as soon as possible.

As a member of the "dream-fulfilling crew," Deng had waited almost 25 years for his debut.

He said that the persistence in the past years has encouraged him to live up to the expectations and trusts of the Communist Party of China and the people, leading him to resolutely complete the task.

During their mission, the three taikonauts saw two handovers with the Shenzhou-14 and Shenzhou-16 crew successively.

Taikonaut Zhang said that they passed on the caring the Shenzhou-14 crew gave them to the Shenzhou-16 trio. "Deep friendship is a mutual trust between life and death, also the continuation of the aerospace spirit," Zhang added.
