Update: Missing helicopter crashes in Dhading

KATHMANDU, Sept 8 (APD) – An Altitude Air H125 (AS350 B3e) series helicopter that went missing while returning from Gorkha to Kathmandu this morning is reported to have crashed somewhere at remote Riling area of Dhading district at around 7 am Saturday.

The chopper, with call sign 9N-AALAS was en-route to Kathmandu from Gorkha with six people on board, according to Nima Nuru Sherpa, Managing Director of Altitude Air Pvt. Ltd.

Helicopters, including Heli-Everest, Altitude Air '9N-AMD' and Simrik Air Bell 407GXP have already been dispatched from Kathmandu to the incident site for search and rescue.

The ill-fated helicopter was anticipated to land Kathmandu at around 8:20 am. The fate of the passengers and crew was still unknown. Details to follow.
