Vietnam's manufacturing sees blossoming trend

Vietnam's manufacturing sector continued to show signs of strengthening in December 2014, the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) said on Monday.

In a report released here on Monday, the bank said the Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI), a composite indicator designed to provide a single-figure snapshot of operating conditions in the manufacturing sector, recorded 52.7 in December from 52.1 in November, and the highest reading since April.

Growth has been registered for 16 month in a row, which was supported by stronger gains in output and new orders, whilst companies continued to add to their payroll numbers at a solid rate.
